Software development is changing. Tips and tricks, other teams’ case studies, and established best practices in your field no longer carry the same weight. Knowing how to do something is no longer enough. What matters more is understanding the outcome you need — and the conditions required to achieve it.

Humans think. Machines bring ideas to life.

In 2026, we’re exploring technology and engineering solutions — and how AI agents are reshaping the work of software developers: from processes and roles to team structures and the boundaries of responsibility.

Software development is changing.Joker is changing with it.

Engineering judgment means identifying the problem to solve, defining the constraints and acceptance criteria, validating the outcome, and deciding whether it should be used.

You can delegate coding to a machine. You can’t delegate responsibility.

JVM and JDK, performance and architecture, Spring and Kotlin, databases and infrastructure, developer tooling, and AI agents.

Modern engineering practices

Engineers, managers, philosophers, and scientists explore technology, work, organizations, and the shifting boundaries of responsibility.

The future of software development

Joker is a conference about technology, engineering solutions, and how AI is reshaping the role of software developers.
