Expert in multithreading and distributed programming, teaches a thematic course at ITMO in St. Petersburg. For 15 years he has been developing high-loaded systems for exchanges and brokers at Devexperts, mostly using Java. Most recently spent 7 years at JetBrains, where he led a team working on the Kotlin language, focusing on language and library design.
He is the author of coroutines in Kotlin, a mechanism for asynchronous computing.
Roman now leads the development experience improvement department in the E-com and Yandex ride tech business group, where he is responsible for developer usability and happiness.
